This wonderful dude,Andrew Michael Ford, who recently curated the show (and from what I can tell, single-handedly made the night pretty dang cool) at King's County Bar I recently blogged about, has an informative art news blog, and just wrote about the awesome Yoko Furusho.

Dear Jess Ruliffson,
We are pleased to inform you that work you submitted to American Illustration 28 has been CHOSEN to appear on TRIBUTE our web gallery at ai-ap.com.

I won't be in the book but I will be on their website. hurray!
Both were personal pieces that I still like, which is extremely encouraging. And there were alot of cool dudes on the jury, I feel really honored.

I can't get enough of this lady, she is awesome.
Check out her website, esp. the Lettering and Design section, here.
I found her in BOOKFORUM, there was a review of this very neat book.
Here's a review if you're into the whole reading thing.

The Arm letterpress studio!
I made a business card yesterday at The Arm letterpress studio in Brooklyn! The weather was perfect and Dan (the resident Letterpress guru) has an endless amount of patience. Workshops are held most every sunday, and he also teaches at Cooper Union. Check out The Arm's website here.
Awesome Flickr-age also here.
I loved the class because I got to walk away with something tangible without having to know an insane amount of information in a very positive environment.

Cannaday Chapman: STARVED magazine interview
My good friend, the immensely talented Cannaday Chapman, was just featured in Starved Magazine. Lucky for us they digitize their issues as well, here's the interview.
The design and format is really great; and it's extremely well edited.
Cryssy Cheung and Nick Danzi were in the last issue! I think NY needs this magazine; it's more like ISM than L Magazine. Coverage of the younger, lower-brow art and cultural scene is a lot more common on the west coast and somewhat lacking out here; I'm glad there is a magazine like this now.
Check it out!

sorry for the late post
I don't have any excuses. Thanks for being patient.
getting back into the baptism/ southern ghost story thing.
i also love under-used colloquialisms.
my good friend victor said i don't need the black line anymore. he's probably right.
I've been listening to alot of electronica pop music and eating too many tootsie rolls.
